The snow is here. Camano Senior and Community Center follows the Stanwood Camano School District schedule. If the school district is closed for weather related issues, both the Camano Senior and Community Center and the 2nd Chance Thrift Shop will be closed. If the school district is operating at a delayed start, the Camano Senior Center will open at 9 am. In case of severe freezing, the Center's evening hours could be shortened or cancelled due to current weather conditions. The school district maintains a school closure hotline with up to date information at 629-1240. Again if the school district is closed, the Center and Thrift Shop are closed. If the district is operating on a delayed schedule, the Center will open at 9 am and could potentially close early.
In concert at the Camano Senior and Community Center.

Chuck Robertson, a former research meteorologist, will speak about the physical processes involved as light interacts with air, ice and water. Rainbows, haloes, mirages, and sun dogs are just a few of the optical phenomena that one might see in the skies of the northwest. This talk will describe these beautiful and sometime elusive displays and explain what one can learn from them about the weather.
This is a consistently sold out event. More infomation coming soon. Tickets go on sale after Christmas and will be available on a first come first serve basis. This fun packed event will feature crab, live music and much, much more!

Studies report that 50% of us will be unable to advocate for our own health care decisions at some point in our lives. What can we do to prepare for this? Create a living will, giving directions to our families and medical providers about our wishes for our future medical needs. Annett Coffman from Skagit Hospice Services will be her to talk about the options for creating a living will and a durable power of attorney. You may RSVP at the Senior Center reception desk.
